Forwarding and logistics commercial agent

Forwarding and logistics sales agents are employees of forwarding and logistics companies. They organise the dispatch of goods, as well as their storage and transshipment and are responsible for the sale of transport/logistics services.

Warehouse exchange

A warehouse exchange is a search engine for warehouses that serves as a mediator for available storage space and surfaces.

Global Guarantee for Customs Clearance

Guarantee issued by a financial entity, serves to guarantee before the Customs Administration the payment of the customs debt of its Customers, which covers the totality of the amounts of duties, tax charges and VAT, inherent to all imports carried out during a period of globalization of one month. 

Global Cross Trade

When cargo is moved between origin and destination without entering the country where the shipper is registered, it is referred to as cross-trade.o.

DME

It’s the Export Declaration of Goods. A document issued by the export bonded warehouse after the goods have entered the warehouse.

Consignment document

I’s a document that accompanies the goods, drawn up by the sender.

FDA

Required for all facilities that manufacture, process, pack, or store food, beverages, or dietary supplements that may be consumed in the United States by humans or animals.

FCL

Indicates that the exporter has sufficient cargo to fill the container alone. However, it can also mean that even though he does not have enough cargo, he wants his goods to be loaded and transported alone.

Delivery note

With a delivery note, the transport company informs the consignee in advance of the approximate time of arrival of the vehicle, the quantity of items with a breakdown by weight or volume, so that the necessary preparations can be made at the place of unloading.

Hub

A Hub is a central transshipment location, in which streams of goods accumulate and are sorted and transshipped according to target regions in all directions.

IEC

It’s the Excise Tax and is about releasing from customs action goods subject to Excise Taxes.
The IEC number is the number attributed by the AT/Customs to economic operators carrying out excise duty activities.
Generally speaking, a company engaged in a retail trade activity will not, in principle, have any IEC status.

Intrastat

Data collection system for intra-Community trade to which are reported, for registration, the movements of goods traded between the various Member States of the European Union. In Portugal, the competent authority for the control and processing of this data is the INE - National Statistics Institute.

LCL

Indicates that the exporter does not have enough cargo to fill the container and therefore wants to share the transport. In this way, it avoids paying for space that it will not use.

Contractual relations market is the market where long-term contracts relating to complex logistics services are concluded.

NVOCC

Regular and specialised groupage service to and from all over the world.
The NVOCC's serve companies that have small lots to be transported, being responsible for the unitization of the fractional cargo they receive for transportation.
